An American romance directed by Nicole Kassell, starring Gael Garcia Bernal, Rosemarie DeWitt, Romany Malco, Treat Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, Peter Dinklage and Kathy Bates.
A woman finds that she has cancer and falls in love with the doctor.
This was on a list of worst movies ever made, but I have seen far worse, and tons of them. Rotten Tomatoes has it at 4% and Metacritic has 14%. Sure, it was shallow and vapid. The writing and dialogue were terrible. The acting seemed forced and the camerawork and editing looked like the filmmakers thought it was better than it actually was. So great movies like The Breakfast Club (1985) are going along great until the sappy, crappy ending. This was sappy and crappy most of the way through with an amazing ending. I'll just go ahead and spoil it: the woman dies and all of her friends and family have a party "Yay! She's finally dead!" I was thinking it was totally trite until that point. The name of the film comes from one short scene in which a male midget prostitute is hired for the woman with cancer (image). I rate this tolerable because of the ending. You probably should not watch it, though.
In ancient Egyptian mythology, a dead person's soul would be weighed against the feather of truth in a ritual called a psychostasy. If their soul was lighter than the feather, it would ascend into the afterlife. Heavy souls were devoured by Maat, eater of the dead. Good films go to hard drive heaven while the recycle bin eats the rest.

Ghosts of Mississippi (1996)
An American courtroom drama directed by Rob Reiner, starring Alec Baldwin, Whoopi Goldberg and James Woods.
A lawyer brings back a case of a black civil rights leader who was killed 27 years before.
I wish I hadn't decided to watch Rob Reiner's directorial filmography. All of his films are very standard and formulaic. This is no exception to that. Anything that I would normally write about can be described with those words. I would like to add a few, just to emphasize my point: stale, boring, predictable, trite, conventional, stock, uninspired, and cliched are just a few that come to mind. The best part was the lawyer's youngest son copying his father's curse word: shit. Overall, I want the last two hours of my life back. I rate this poor for being so mediocre (there's another good word!).

Burn Hollywood Burn (1997)

A mockumentary directed by Arthur Hiller, starring Whoopi Goldberg, Jackie Chan, Sylvester Stallone and Coolio.
A director gets his first directing job and the film is mishandled without his consent. It turns out bad, so he steals it to keep his name from being associated with it.
Wikipedia bills this as the worst film ever, but it's actually ABOUT the worst film ever. When the characters are introduced, the screen pauses and character profile lists come up, detailing the person. Some of the attributes are funny. I also thought the 3 celebrities chosen for the film within the film make a funny team. I'm rating this o.k.

Alice in Wonderland (1999)

A fantasy directed by Nick Willing, under Hallmark Entertainment, starring Whoopi Goldberg, Gene Wilder and Christopher Lloyd, with special effects by Jim Henson's creature shop.
A girl follows a rabbit into a fantasy world.
These people took the Alice in Wonderland story and threw it in a blender. Then Jim Henson puppets were added along with some digital effects. The outcome is a strange mix of crappiness and Henson style magic. The plot was a jumbled mess and the whole thing seemed forced. I'm rating it o.k. because I liked the Henson creatures, but everything else was terrible.
