Track 29 (1988)

A British American psychological thriller directed by Nicolas Roeg, starring Theresa Russell, Gary Oldman, Christopher Lloyd, Colleen Camp and Seymour Cassel.
A woman whose husband neglects her meets a stranger in a restaurant and begins a complex relationship with him. The husband spends all of his time with model trains or cheating on his wife with a nurse at the hospital he works at.
This was that type of strange that only Nicolas Roeg can create. The plot was a little on the confusing side. Is this young man real or does the woman have an imaginary friend? Add the inconclusive ending and it's nearly incoherent. The characters were definitely acted very well. Being famous movie stars and all, they lived up to their reputations. The video was mostly straight forward storytelling. There were some odd shots and scenes as well. My favorite was the young man playing with the husband's train set. The audio was shoddy and uneven. This was the standard inaudible dialogue problem. Overall, a weird film by a weird director. I'm giving it the weird pink rating because I think it's his strangest work.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014)

An American action noir film directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, starring Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Josh Brolin, Bruce Willis and Christopher Lloyd.
Various characters from the original Sin City film have continued story lines that branch out. They gamble, drink, have sex and kill each other.
Compared with the original, this was a steaming pile of waste. The filmmakers must have been like: "Sin City was really cool. What if we removed all the style, flavor and magic? Would we be able to sell another one?" No is the answer. The 30 million dollar loss shows that quite clearly. The plot was more desultory than the first, rendering it inconsequential, irrelevant and incoherent. The characters were forgettable extras and the story was constantly switching between them, not letting the viewer settle into a section. The video looked like the original in many ways, but upon comparison, one may notice subtle differences. These would mostly be in shot composition, lighting, sets, physical effects, the stuff that really makes a difference. The CG in this version is cranked up to 11, but it does fuck all to make it a better movie. Sure, it looks like the comic book, but that doesn't make it good. The audio is similar to the other aspects. Similar to the original, but lacking that undefinable flair for the debonair. Overall, a total disappointment. I rate this bad. Watch the original again if you are ever tempted to view this.

Quicksilver Highway (1997)

A horror by Mike Garris, starring Christopher Lloyd.
A story teller meets 2 people and tells a story to each, based on how he meets them. In the first story, a traveling salesman picks up novelty teeth and a hitchhiker at a roadside tourist trap. In the second, a man's hands rebel against him.
This was the cheesy type of stuff that I would expect from an '80s film, not '97. The characters and plots were very superficial. The style was nearly worthless and Christopher Lloyd doesn't look cool dressed goth. The DeLorean should have popped into existence and taken him back to a film that he belongs in. Despite the main character not fitting the film, he was the coolest part of it. I'm rating this poor for being too cheesy for my tastes (yeah, that takes a lot!).

Back to the Future series (1985, 1989 & 1990)

A comedy science fiction directed by Robert Zemeckis, starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd.
A scientist invents a time machine that sends himself and his assistant through time, but when events are changed in another time, they have to use the time machine again to fix the problems created by using it the first time.
Another classic '80s flick. This is a very bright set of films, which is not really my style. There are "cliffhanger" moments throughout, as the scientist and his assistant try to accomplish tasks on a tight schedule. I'm rating this awesome just because I like it.

Alice in Wonderland (1999)

A fantasy directed by Nick Willing, under Hallmark Entertainment, starring Whoopi Goldberg, Gene Wilder and Christopher Lloyd, with special effects by Jim Henson's creature shop.
A girl follows a rabbit into a fantasy world.
These people took the Alice in Wonderland story and threw it in a blender. Then Jim Henson puppets were added along with some digital effects. The outcome is a strange mix of crappiness and Henson style magic. The plot was a jumbled mess and the whole thing seemed forced. I'm rating it o.k. because I liked the Henson creatures, but everything else was terrible.

one flew over the cuckoo's nest (1975)

a drama directed by milos forman
jack nicholson isn't crazy, but he gets thrown in the nuthouse anyway and causes problems there.
the audio and video were decent. what do you expect for 1975?
check out: christopher lloyd. is he in there for building the delorean?
this film has an annoying feel to it. maybe it's because it's old, maybe because I've been in the setting before. whatever it is, it ruins the whole thing for me. otherwise, it would be great and be in green and I would be singing it's praises. all things considered, it's o.k. even though it's on EVERYONE'S favorite films list.
