125 Years Memory A.K.A. 海難1890, Kainan 1890 (2015)

A Turkish Japanese drama directed by Mitsutoshi Tanaka, starring Seiyō Uchino.
A group of Turkish sailors are shipwrecked in Japan and the people of a small village save them. Years later, some Japanese people are trying to get out of the middle east on a Turkish rescue flight.
It took that long to tell this story? 2 hours. Why? The plot was absurdly simple and characters developed some before being discarded, never to be seen again.  It all looked and sounded great. The subtitles I got were a little screwy, but on time. I just don't see why it had to be so long. Sure, there's a great message about helping others. I'm not saying I dislike that, just that it could have been done quickly. I rate this o.k. because it was fine, just too long. Know what you're getting into before you dive into watching movies.

Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam A.K.A. The Man Who Saved the World, Turkish Star Wars (1982)

A Turkish science fiction directed by Cetin Inanc.
2 men from Earth face an evil wizard.
This was like taking the worst parts of 1950s science fiction, 1960s peplum and 1980s kung fu films and turning the horrid mess into a single film. Everything about it was bad or worse. It wasn't so bad it was good or even fun to mock. It was just trash. It is listed among the worst films ever and I agree. The filmmakers were not even skilled enough to make it bad on its own, but had to infringe copyright, including (most obviously) scenes from Star Wars and music from Indiana Jones. The sword was the worst movie prop I've seen. It looked like spray painted cardboard. I rate this shit and wish I had never wasted my time watching it. DO NOT WATCH!!!!

Kedi (2016)

A Turkish documentary directed by Ceyda Torun.
Stray cats in Istanbul interact with people.
This was all about B-roll. The plot was sparse and simplistic, illustrating certain cats and relationships between cats and humans. The interviews were on topic. The video was done very well and consisted mainly of cats in this city. The audio was in Turkish and the version that I watched had accurate English subtitles. There really isn't much more to say. Overall, it's a movie about cats. Watch it if you want to stare at cats for an hour and 17 minutes. I rate this adequate because the video looked good.
