An American romance directed by Rob Reiner, starring Bruce Willis and Michelle Pfeiffer.
A husband and wife who are having problems with their relationship separate while their children are away at camp.
Not so great standard Hollywood bullshit. The plot was so stale, obvious and predictable that it failed to hold my attention. The characters were just as stale and predictable as the plot. The video was straight forward story telling with no artsy shots of any kind. The audio had audible dialogue, but the soundtrack was stupidly mediocre. What irked me most was flashbacks of the couple's life together being momentarily visited during this troubled time. Actually showing their relationship would have been more effective. The whole thing just seemed fake and poorly written. Castle Rock, Universal and Warner Brothers were banking on star power that only netted them 8 million in the end. For more criticism, please refer to the Wikipedia page. I rate this bad. Do not watch!
In ancient Egyptian mythology, a dead person's soul would be weighed against the feather of truth in a ritual called a psychostasy. If their soul was lighter than the feather, it would ascend into the afterlife. Heavy souls were devoured by Maat, eater of the dead. Good films go to hard drive heaven while the recycle bin eats the rest.

Into the Night (1985)
An American adventure directed by John Landis, starring Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Pfeiffer, Richard Farnsworth, David Bowie and Dan Aykroyd.
A man cannot sleep and hates his job. He goes home early one day to find his wife in bed with another man. On the advice of a friend, he goes to the airport on his way to Las Vegas, but encounters a woman there who is in trouble and saves her life. She keeps asking him to help her and he ends up going along for an exciting adventure.
This was pretty cool. It started off as Office Space (1999) and turned into After Hours (1985) before becoming it's own thing. The complex plot was very clear. The characters were not developed very much, but good anyway. The main character's stoicism seemed to melt away as the plot progressed. The video had lots of very dark sections, as Landis has done with his other films. The audio was decent. The dialogue was all audible, but the music seemed inappropriate at times. There were some high quality female anatomy points earned by the woman on the boat (picture). Overall, it held my interest and I liked it. I rate this good.

Wolf (1994)

A fantasy directed by Mike Nichols, starring Jack Nicholson and Michelle Pfeiffer.
A business man is bitten by a wolf and begins to change into a werewolf. Meanwhile, he has just met a woman and they are falling in love.
The sound was terrible on the copy of this that I got. All of the characters were whispering so quietly that it looked like they were just mouthing the words. The plot and characters were a little cheesy. The special effects were also on the dairy side. The style was alright and the pacing was decent. Overall, it wasn't anything special. I'm rating it o.k.

Dangerous Minds (1995)

A drama directed by John N. Smith, starring Michelle Pfeiffer.
A new teacher gets a job teaching city kids.
This is exactly like every other ghetto-school flick I've seen. The kids initially resist the new teacher and the teacher gets in trouble for trying to help the kids, she wins their trust and then there's a classroom dancing scene. It's like they're all based on the same book or something. I don't tolerate that type of plagiarism here. I'm giving this an F for copying off another student's paper.

Dangerous Liaisons (1988)

A drama directed by Stephen Frears, starring Glenn Close, John Malkovich, Michelle Pfeiffer, Keanu Reeves and Uma Thurman.
Rich nobles have affairs with eachother.
I found this whole thing to be entirely too boring. I don't really care who's sleeping with who and who is angry about it. The whole nobility etiquette thing takes the emotion out of any film. There was some nudity and implied sex, but not enough to redeem this boring flick. I'm rating it bad.

The Witches of Eastwick (1987)

A comedic horror directed by George Miller, starring Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer.
3 women with magic powers wish for a special man to come to them. They get Jack Nicholson as the devil.
The special effects are done tastefully and the plot is pretty good. The music is alright (it's all classical). I'm rating it adequate and still wondering why so many good films came out when I was 5 years old.
