An American comedy written and directed by John Waters, starring Edward Furlong, Christina Ricci, Mary Kay Place, Martha Plimpton, Brendan Sexton III, Mink Stole and Lili Taylor.
A young photographer in Baltimore Maryland is discovered by a New York City art dealer. His show is a success, but it causes problems for his friends and family because the photos provide a deep view into their lives.
I had gotten so tired of the "high art" films with hidden meanings and lofty ideals. It's good to watch a plain American comedy after all of that snobbishness. The plot held my attention very well and the characters were interesting. I even thought some parts were funny. A good example is the clothing store woman catching the photographer and shoplifter pair and forcing a "pecker picture". I rate this good because it's a very sincere and unpretentious comedy. I recommend it if you have gotten into a similar situation with watching films like I have.
In ancient Egyptian mythology, a dead person's soul would be weighed against the feather of truth in a ritual called a psychostasy. If their soul was lighter than the feather, it would ascend into the afterlife. Heavy souls were devoured by Maat, eater of the dead. Good films go to hard drive heaven while the recycle bin eats the rest.

Pink Flamingos (1972)

A comedy by John Waters.
An infamous drag queen is hiding out in a trailer with her mother, son and a "traveling companion". A deviant couple who do all sorts of nasty things want to steal "her" fame.
I've seen poorly made low budget films before, but this is beyond any of those. The sound is horrible and the whole thing looks like it was recorded on a home camcorder. There is some sexual content that the film describes as "filthy" and I think this is an accurate term. Sexual intersourse doesn't usually involve chickens and normal people don't put meat from a butcher shop between their legs in an attempt to attract a mate. I turned it off after 40 minutes because the acting was so bad and the general quality of the film was crap. I'm rating it bad for quality reasons.
