The Day After Tomorrow (2004)

A disaster film directed by Roland Emmerich, starring Dennis Quaid.
Giant storms freeze the earth. A son is in New York City and his father heads out through the storm to rescue him.
This was stereotypical and so overproduced. It also tries to back up Al Gore about his climate change hoax. The earth's temperature is regulated by the sun (imagine that!). When the earth is far away, it is cold. When the earth is close, it is hot. This has nothing to do with greenhouse gasses or carbon taxes in any way. I'm rating this film poor because it's basically pointless.

Universal Soldier (1992)

An action film directed by Roland Emmerich, starring Jean-Claude Van-Damme.
Soldiers who died in Vietnam are brought back to life for further military use. 2 of them remember their past life and rivalry.
I'm not including sequels here because most were direct to video. I remember watching this when I was in elementary school and my mother being offended and not letting me rent it again. Now (after years of satanism, drug abuse and heavy metal leading to new world order conspiracy theory) I don't see what's so fucking rotten about it. This is the type of stuff that Bill (ravnos site in sidebar) likes to watch and I see some entertainment value in some of it. This film holds some sentimental value for me, which elevates it to an adequate rating.

2012 (2009)

A disaster film directed by Roland Emmerich.
In the year 2012, natural disasters disrupt the earth and a family flees from the wreckage.
Special effects were THE main character in this film. It was pretty in that "earth shattering disaster" type of way. I'm rating it adequate for being exciting.
