An American thriller directed by Darren Aronofsky, starring Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel, Barbara Hershey and Winona Ryder.
A ballet dancer works hard to get the leading role in a show, but her mental stability and personal relationships are falling apart.
This took time to get cool, but was well worth the wait. Obviously, the climax scene was my favorite part. The plot had some depth and the main character was very well developed. The camera-work was good and there were some special effects used. The pacing starts out very slow and builds speed toward the ending. Overall, this is what I'm looking for in a good movie. I rate this one of those solid green ratings. Watch it!
In ancient Egyptian mythology, a dead person's soul would be weighed against the feather of truth in a ritual called a psychostasy. If their soul was lighter than the feather, it would ascend into the afterlife. Heavy souls were devoured by Maat, eater of the dead. Good films go to hard drive heaven while the recycle bin eats the rest.

Noah (2014)
An American adventure directed by Darren Aronofsky, starring Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Ray Winstone and Anthony Hopkins.
The biblical story of Noah and his ark is told in a somewhat altered form.
This was sort of good, sort of cheesy and way overdone. The plot was over dramatized and the characters didn't make much sense. The camera-work was absolutely terrible and the style reeked of new super-hero flicks. The special effects on the watchers were really good, but I didn't like much else. Overall, not the best, but it has some merits. I rate it o.k.

The Wrestler (2008)

An American sports drama by Darren Aronofsky starring Mickey Rourke.
An aging wrestler who is till wrestling long after his fame has a heart attack. He tries to reunite with his daughter and woo a stripper while continuing his chosen career.
The plot and characters are awesome. The style perfectly conveys what the main character is feeling and the '80s metal soundtrack is definitely appreciated. When a movie is as simple and good as this there isn't much to say. I rate it best.

Requiem for a Dream (2000)

A drama directed by Darren Aronofsky, based on the 1978 book.
A heroine addict always steals his mother's television to buy drugs. The mother gets a junk-mail letter saying that she is invited to be on a TV game show, so she starts taking strong diet pills. The son does well selling drugs for a little while, but then a drug drought occurs. Meanwhile, the mother is going insane from the pills.
The video is very good. The audio is good quality, but the soundtrack is somewhat lacking.
check out: The quick closeup shots.
This has to be the most tragic movie ever made. It was also made very well, earning it a good review for a story that glues you to the seat and memorable characters.
