A West German Spanish sexploitation directed by Jesus Franco, starring Soledad Miranda, Dennis Price and Paul Muller.
A woman dreams of being seduced by a female vampire.
This would have been great as a short porn flick, but it doesn't have the plot necessary for a feature film. The characters were cast well and there were artsy camera shots, but otherwise, it was worthless. Naked lesbian vampires was a cool idea, but it didn't end up working out. There were these shots of a moth in a net, a scorpion on pavement, a kite in the sky and a boat at sunset that seemed to have been randomly thrown in. Other reviewers have called this "effortlessly dream-like" and praised the soundtrack. it could have been saved by adding a plot or making it into a more graphic lesbian porn. I rate this bad. Don't bother watching it.
In ancient Egyptian mythology, a dead person's soul would be weighed against the feather of truth in a ritual called a psychostasy. If their soul was lighter than the feather, it would ascend into the afterlife. Heavy souls were devoured by Maat, eater of the dead. Good films go to hard drive heaven while the recycle bin eats the rest.

Marquis de Sade: Justine A.K.A. Justine ovvero le disavventure della virtù (1969)
An Italian West German sexploitation adventure directed by Jesus Franco, starring Klaus Kinski and Jack Palance.
A pair of sisters who grew up in a convent are forced to leave when their parents die. One sister is adventurous, rebellious and slutty while the other is virtuous and innocent. They are separated at a brothel where one sister decides to work and the other leaves. The virtuous sister then has all kinds of adventures with criminals and perverts, nearly being killed multiple times.
This was pretty epic. The plot was expansive and felt like it contained a world of it's own. There were also lots of characters. Many were under-developed, but all fit the story and were acted appropriately. The video was very clear and straight forward. It showed the story well, but lacked the artsy shots that I've seen in other Franco films. The audio was great. It had audible dialogue and period-appropriate classical music. In the picture, the virtuous main character is being abducted by a pair of homosexuals that she caught rolling around in some bushes. Overall, this is the best of Jesus Franco so far. More than just prurient smut and shocking schlock, but still with a salacious flavor. I still have many pages in the list, so that might change. I rate it good.

Eugenie A.K.A. Eugenia, Eugenia De Sade, De Sade 2000 (1973)
A Liechtenstein sexploitation directed by Jesus Franco.
A young woman lives with her step-father, who is an erotic writer. After she reads some of his books, they decide to murder people together.
This was not too shabby. The plot was simple, but seemed to not make much sense. Why are they killing people? The characters were developed a little bit, but I didn't feel like I knew them personally. The video was actually not too bad. Most of the shots were straight forward narrative style, but clearly showed what was going on. There were some more artsy shots that were in the right places and looked cool to me. The main attraction here is the soundtrack. Although not expansive or varied, it features a catchy theme that reminded me of Cannibal Holocaust. The bittersweet vocal melody is very similar. Overall, a decent piece of lascivious cinema. I rate it o.k.

De Sade 70 A.K.A. Marquis De Sade - Eugenie, Philosophy in the Boudoir, Eugenie... the Story of Her Journey Into Perversion (1970)
A Spanish West German sexploitation directed by Jesus Franco.
A teenage girl spends a weekend at the island house of her father's mistress. There she is drugged, raped and beaten.
For the shock level of the subject matter, the schlock level rose to meet it. The plot was overly simplistic to a crude and boorish level. The characters were shallow and undeveloped. The video was barely decent, with some artsy shots among the straight forward narrative style. The audio featured music of the time mixed louder than the dialogue. What it did have was nudity. If you're looking for boobs, I would recommend Russ Meyer though. Overall, crudely prurient schlock. I rate this poor. It's not that I don't appreciate the female nudity, there are just better things to watch for that.

Once Upon a Girl (1976)
An American animated sexploitation written, directed and produced by Don Jurwich, starring Hal Smith and Frank Welker.
Charged with disturbing the peace, a person claiming to be Mother Goose appears in court and tells the "real" versions of the famous stories.
This was lewd, crude and hilarious. The plots intentionally had trouble getting started, but soon became clear. The humor was all sex jokes and was difficult to misunderstand. The characters were not really all that important, but there were some good ones, like Little Red Riding Hood and Jack (of beanstalk fame). The animation style was classic cartoon drawing. Not since Urotsukidoji have I seen so many cartoon genitals and animated sexual acts. Being x-rated, nothing was really off-limits. The audio featured some really cheesy synthesizer music that I actually liked. Overall, an hour and 20 minutes of cartoon sex jokes is difficult to screw up. I rate this awesome. Watch it!!!

Lorna (1964)
An American sexploitation directed by Russ Meyer.
A man goes to work in a salt mine on the day of his wedding anniversary. His co-workers make fun of him and say that his wife is sleeping around, causing them to get into a fight. Meanwhile, the wife is unhappy with her husband's sexual performance and thinks that he has forgotten the date. She meets an escaped criminal and has a short, but lustful relationship with him.
This was pretty tame for a Russ Meyer flick. The plot was simple, but used the simultaneous scenes that are part of his style. The characters were not developed very well, but better than some Meyer films I've seen. It turns out that the female lead was three months pregnant during the filming. On another related note, this whole film took a total of 13 days to make. That includes writing and filming. The video was all in black and white 4:3 aspect ratio. I think they got some good shots. The ending fight was not planned well. Here we have two men with the same hairstyle, body-type and clothing fighting. The audio was standard of Meyer's work: music too loud, dialogue too quiet. Overall, there are much better examples of Russ Meyer films. I rate this poor.

Up! (1976)
An American sexploitation directed by Russ Meyer.
A man who thinks he is Hitler is murdered by an unseen person. A young woman is seen by the sheriff running on a nearby road. She is later picked up by a man in a pickup truck, whom she kills. The sheriff lets her bribe him with sex and she gets a job at a local restaurant.
Typical Russ Meyer. I think this one showed a little bit more, though. The plot was a little unclear and the characters were mostly under-developed. Obviously lots of female anatomy points. The video was a little grainy and blurry. The audio was not mixed correctly (another Meyer staple). The dialogue was too low and the music was too loud. Overall, I got what I expected: boobs. I rate this o.k.

Good Morning and... Goodbye! (1967)
An American sexploitation film directed by Russ Meyer.
A group of seemingly unrelated characters living in a valley are united by sexual infidelity.
So Russ Meyer. Who is sleeping with whom is not a valid plot. The characters seemed to boil down to three: husbands, adulterers and women. The video was alright, but just a little more creative editing would have made a huge difference. For example, the old husband is driving and the witch is everywhere. Putting her more places for shorter times and making her seem to disappear and reappear would have been very easy. The intro scene of the naked woman running got my hopes up about nudity, but the rest of the film did not deliver what was promised. The audio let me know that they were inexperienced at mixing dialogue and music. The dialogue was too quiet and the music was too loud. I have very sensitive ears though. Overall, not worth watching at all. Russ Meyer has made much better films with more nudity and more plot than this. I rate it poor.

Finders Keepers, Lovers Weepers! (1968)
An American sexploitation crime film written, produced and directed by Russ Meyer.
At a strip club, men are waiting to rob the safe while the owner is on the phone being lured to a brothel. The prostitutes try to keep the bar owner busy while the robbers steal his money, but he has to be kicked out of the whore house and his wife goes to dance at the strip club.
This is what I think of when I see or hear Russ Meyer's name. The plot was a little more complex on this one, with all of the characters interlocking in some way. The video was pretty well done. My favorite scenes for creativity were the credits being on liquor bottles and pool sex cutting to a destruction derby. The audio featured clearly audible dialogue and a very '60s soundtrack. Overall, I think this is one of Russ' better films. I rate it good for sex and violence.

Eve and the Handyman (1961)
An American sexploitation comedy by Russ Meyer.
A woman is pursuing a janitor. She says that she is trying to find his weak point to achieve her goal. Throughout the day, the man sees beautiful women who are sometimes naked.
This was kind of funny. The plot was helped by the woman's heavy narration and the handyman character was developed some. Foley sounds is what made most of the jokes funny. There were also a few art jokes toward the end. The soundtrack was decent, but a bit on the annoying side. It sounded a lot like Looney Tunes. What dismayed me most was the handyman's cleaning skills. He isn't exactly thorough. Overall, a decent, yet vapid film. I rate it adequate.

Cherry, Harry & Raquel! (1970)
An American sexpoitation directed by Russ Meyer, starring Charles Napier.
A small-town sheriff works for a local politician in a cannabis smuggling operation while his girlfriend tries to meet a local prostitute.
I got an incomplete and damaged version of this. Hence, I am unable to comment on how I thought the plot was presented. The characters were stereotypical, as always. The video featured cut-away scenes of a naked woman in the desert for seemingly no plot-driven reason. It also featured quick back and forth cuts between sets of characters engaged in different activities. A prime example is the women together in the hospital while men are fighting. The audio was not so great. There were a few occasions on which I wished that an annoying noise would stop. Overall, as expected. I rate it o.k.

Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens (1979)
A sexploitation written, produced and directed by Russ Meyer.
A couple are having sexual difficulties and turn to infidelity to solve their problems.
This film dances on the thin line between sexpoitation and pornography. It's basically all about sex, but without showing the juicy parts. The minimalist plot and barely developed characters don't help. There was humor involved and female anatomy points. Lots of big boobs. That was about it. Very basic, carnal and lewd. I rate this o.k.

Sex Madness (1938)
An American exploitation drama directed and produced by Dwain Esper.
Various young adults have their lives affected by syphilis.
Making a film about sex in post-MPPcode America is like making a film about polar bears in Africa. The lack of ability to show the subject matter or even speak of it prevents an effective film from being made. The characters were hard to keep track of and the plot was necessarily vague. The audio and video were some of the worst and most primitive I have ever experienced. It wasn't painful to watch, but only displayed negative characteristics. I rate it bad.

Paprika (1991)

A sexploitation film by Tinto Brass.
A girl begins a career as a prostitute to make extra money, but sticks with her job choice longer than expected.
If you thought Showgirls had a lot of breast scenes, this blows that away. I would call the female breast a main character and they are all large. The plot was a little sparse and the characters shallow, but what do you expect? If you're looking for some relatively clean softcore porn, this is it. I'm rating it good for boobs.
