Dog Soldiers (2002)

A horror directed by Neil Marshall.
A group of soldiers are participating in a military exercise in a mountainous, forested area. They are attacked by werewolves.
This included everything that I hate about new movies. It was way overproduced, the characters were dumber than a bag of rocks (besides their witty one-liners during combat) and the plot was stale. The werewolves looked like they were stolen from an '80s Howling film only worse. Any redeeming qualities? No. I rate it bad.

The Descent (2005)

A horror written and directed by Neil Marshall.
A group of women enter an unknown cave system and find humanoid monsters in the depths.
The camera never stops moving in this film and a lot of scenes are very dark. The women enter the cave all clean and freshly showered. By the end of the film, they are drenched in blood/water and completely covered in cave dirt. There was some suspense and a few tense moments, but overall it's just one of the crowd. O.k.

Centurion (2010)

An adventure directed by Neil Marshall.
A large group of Roman soldiers is led into an ambush and only 7 men survive the attack. They then try to escape from the Picts that are chasing them.
There was a lot of violence and bloodshed in this movie. I could see how big the budget must have been by how "perfect" everything looked. I was unimpressed. This is the type of mass produced Hollywood bullshit that I try to warn people against with my blog. I'm rating it o.k. for fitting in with the crowd.
