A Czech American fantasy directed by Stephen Sommers, starring Hugh Jackman, Kate Beckinsale, Richard Roxburgh and David Wenham.
Vampire hunter, Van Helsing gets a female associate and they hunt monsters together. Vampires, werewolves, whatever.
Poopoo, CG junk. The plot almost held my interest way back when I watched it. Characters all over-acted, too much CG, sets too large to be real. I guess it did action scenes well because that was most of the movie. I rate this poor. You probably should not watch it.
In ancient Egyptian mythology, a dead person's soul would be weighed against the feather of truth in a ritual called a psychostasy. If their soul was lighter than the feather, it would ascend into the afterlife. Heavy souls were devoured by Maat, eater of the dead. Good films go to hard drive heaven while the recycle bin eats the rest.

Haunted (1995)

A drama by Lewis Gilbert, starring Kate Beckinsale.
A psychologist goes to investigate a haunted house and begins a romantic relationship with a young woman who lives there.
This was a nice change from the creepy haunting films that I was watching, but not so great otherwise. The best thing about it was the scorching female lead. It seemed like the whole movie was about making it look like the time period intended and Kate Beckinsale wearing lipstick. There's a plot twist in the end, but it actually made me like the film less. I'm rating it poor, as it was saved from a worse rating by Kate's lipstick.
