The Terminator & Terminator 2 Judgement Day (1984 & 1991)

American science fictions directed by James Cameron, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton.
People and robots from an apocalyptic future are sent throughh time to change the past. They are sent equally to protect and destroy the future leader of the human resiustance against machines and his mother.
But wait! There are 6 films in this series! No. In my book, #3 started a new series separate from the first 2. The main point that I like is keeping the same 2 lead actors and re-casting Arnold from villain to hero. It makes the sanitarium hallway scene in #2 very effective. These films are known for visual effects and rightly so. The first film included an animated robot and the second had a villain made of liquid metal who could change shape. John Connor's friend from the motorcycle and arcade scenes was Danny Cooksey, who was also in Salute Your Shorts (1991 - 1992 TV). I really like the Guns N' Roses song, "You Could Be Mine" included in that section and as a DVD extra music video. The plot point of machines turning against people seems more realistic now than it did when these films were made. Even my car (made in 2006) thinks it is smarter than me. My current phone basically thinks for itself. I rate these 2 films awesome. The rest of the series would end up below o.k.

Avatar (2009)

An American science fiction directed by James Cameron, starring Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver.
A group of soldiers and scientists from Earth go to another planet, seeking unobtainium (not joking). The indigenous people live directly on top of the mineral deposit, so the humans use fake alien bodies to communicate with them and try to get them to move. One soldier is accepted into their society, goes native and has to save them.
Fern Gully 3! Joking aside for a moment, this is amazingly beautiful and entertaining. I really like it. The plot of a 1992 animated musical with Robin Williams and Tim Curry apparently goes a long way. I didn't even know there was Fern Gully 2 until a moment ago. It's the same deal: foreigner goes native and saves his new group. The name of the mineral makes me laugh every time. I really don't feel the need to write lots about such a well known film. I do, however, rate it best. Watch it! I don't care if you've seen it. Watch it again.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991)

A science fiction by James Cameron, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
In a future world where man fights against machines, the leader of the human resistance sends a cyborg back in time to protect himself when he is a teenager. The machines send a more advanced warrior to kill the human leader when he is young.
This film has a very dark style to it. I remember watching this when I was very young and my mother not wanting me to see it because I was only 10 years old. The extended version is really that much better than the original and includes scenes of John's father visiting Sarah and a few extra t-1000 morphs. I really like this film and it brings back fond memories of my childhood, so I'm rating it awesome.

Alien series (1979 - 1997)

A set of science fiction directed by Ridley Scott, James Cameron, David Fincher and Jean-Pierre Jeunet, starring Sigourney Weaver.
A team on a space ship land on an unknown planet in response to a distress signal. They find that the signal was a warning and one of their crew is impregnated with a monster. The robot crew-member flips out and has to be killed as the rest of the crew are killed by the monster. Sigourney Weaver runs away in a small ship, blowing up the main one, but the monster follows and she "blows it out the god-damned airlock!". She is picked up 50 years later and after a brief job driving "power loader" (a human shaped forklift), she is sent with a military team to rescue dead colonists on the planet that the monster came from. After fighting off hordes of alien warriors as well as the queen and getting most of the crew killed in the process, Sigourney, a little girl, a robot and 1 injured man fly away again (after blowing the queen out "the god-damned airlock!"). Their escape pod crashes on a prison planet and Sigourney is the only survivor. She learns, along with the 25 inmates, that an alien monster came with her and she is pregnant with one of them. Together they kill the alien (without the use of any airlock) and Sigourney kills herself while giving birth to a new alien queen. A few hundred years later, Sigourney is genetically engineered and cloned to be part alien. A crew of riff-raff board the ship that she is on, one with the intention of killing her to prevent the spread of aliens. The aliens (even Sigourney) are being tested and some of them break free of their cages. Sigourney joins the riff-raff crew and leaves, but not before an intimate encounter with some aliens, during which a white alien is born. The alien and Sigourney get on the evacuation ship just in time and it doesn't take much imagination to figure out how the alien is killed. A makeshift airlock of a broken window.
Yeah, I spoiled ALL the plots, but I'm counting on nobody having the patience to read all of that. These films are good and I like the second one best. Damn, was there an extended version, because I never saw those colonists before! I have my doubts about the alien sex scene in resurrection. I doubt that a human could mate with an alien in the first place, but when the concept of a female human mating with a female alien is presented, my bullshit sensors go off. Like I said, the plots aren't very creative, but watch these movies for the monsters.
