Hunger (2008)

A drama by Steve McQueen.
Prisoners in an Irish prison hold protests and are treated severely.
This came highly recommended. I now know what to think of such recommendations. The party involved promised to put a flashlight down my throat in search of my soul if I was not moved by the film. I though the doo-doo on the walls was amusing, but I was not impressed by much else. The style was way strange and for that I give credit. I've seen prisoners abused before, so that's nothing new. Only one man was shown on hunger strike and that didn't even take up much screen-time. I'm not impressed. This gets an o.k.
