In ancient Egyptian mythology, a dead person's soul would be weighed against the feather of truth in a ritual called a psychostasy. If their soul was lighter than the feather, it would ascend into the afterlife. Heavy souls were devoured by Maat, eater of the dead. Good films go to hard drive heaven while the recycle bin eats the rest.

American Flyers (1985)
A drama directed by John Badham.
A pair of brothers who race road bikes train for a race that they will be riding. The younger one goes in for tests to see if he has the disease that killed their father and overhears disturbing things. They pick up a girlfriend for the younger brother on the way to the race and start competing for first place.
This was VERY 80s! There was a cheesy soundtrack and some older style bicycles. The brothers actually ride Specialized, which I didn't think existed in 1985, but apparently, I was wrong. The main thing that shows the age of the bicycles is the position of the shift levers. Shimano introduced integrated brake/shift levers in the 1990s and the bikes in this film have the shift levers mounted on the down tube. The headsets are another thing that date these bikes. Newer models would be using a stronger Aheadset without the wedge-bolt on the stem itself. The seat-guts would also be different, but enough bike-tech. I always get off on one of these tangents when I review a bicycles film. I'm rating it good because it caused me to go on nearly pointless searches about dating bicycles by their components.
