An American drama directed by M. Night Shyamalan, starring Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson.
A man who has extremely fragile bones and is obsessed with comic books finds a man who cannot be injured. This "unbreakable" man has family troubles.
This has been incorrectly categorized as a superhero movie, but it's a drama. The hour and 42 minute duration seemed to alternate between the superhero story and the hero's family drama, with family drama always getting more time. It seemed like there were 2 plots that didn't quite meet. The 2 main characters were played by renowned actors who can do a good job in almost any role. I was disappointed by the toy store quote. I found this movie by looking up that quote after having read it on slipsum.com and expected it to be delivered more expressively. The acting was a little low-key and more drama than superhero. Sets and costumes consisted of normally dressed people in a city. Only Samuel L. Jackson's coat made an impression on me. As is typically the case, camera-work used lots of close-ups and underexposures with quicker editing cuts during the few, short action scenes. Audio was mixed correctly. I could hear dialogue, but the music again seemed more drama than action. This won 1/10 awards that it was nominated for, has a 7.2/10 on IMDB, 3/5 stars on AllMovie, Has a Metascore of 62% and user score of 8.6/10 on Metacritic and has 68% tomatometer and 77% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes for an average of 71%. I agree with the C- grade completely because it was unimpressive as action and sappy like a pine tree as drama. I rate this poor.
In ancient Egyptian mythology, a dead person's soul would be weighed against the feather of truth in a ritual called a psychostasy. If their soul was lighter than the feather, it would ascend into the afterlife. Heavy souls were devoured by Maat, eater of the dead. Good films go to hard drive heaven while the recycle bin eats the rest.

Lady in the Water (2006)

A fantasy by M. Night Shyamalan.
The dorky maintenance man at an apartment building finds a strange woman by the pool one night, who turns out to be a water nymph. When she goes outside so that the eagle can take her away, she is attacked by a wolf-like creature called a scrunt. The maintenance man has to figure out what to do from a bedtime story told by an old Chinese woman who doesn't speak English.
This is some of the 2000s crap that I like. The plot is way cheesy and the characters were stereotypes, but that was good. It was WAY over-produced and the style was typical of the time period, but that worked to it's advantage. I even liked the CG wolf thing. I'm rating this good because it's crap, but it's good crap.

The Happening (2008)

A science fiction thriller by M Night Shyamalan, starring Mark Wahlberg and John Leguizamo.
A mysterious disease strikes large populations of humans and moves on to smaller populations. The people infected by this kill themselves.
This was over-produced and stupid actions were taken by the characters. Typical for 2000+ cinema. I didn't like the main character and thought that the plot was dumb. There was little entertainment value to be had, as I kept commenting to myself "SO STUPID!". I have to rate this bad.

The Last Airbender (2010)

A fantasy directed by M. Night Shyamalan, by Nickelodeon.
A boy with more magical powers than anyone else is found and helps water mages to fight against fire mages.
You can almost hear the "kaching" of a cash register as this film progresses. The budget seems to be limitless and special effects become a main character. The real characters were shallow and the plot was a little boring. I kind of liked the floating beast that the heroes ride on (pictured here). Some of it was pretty, but overall nothing worth watching. I'm rating it poor.
