El Topo (1970)

A western by Alejandro Jodorowsky.
This film follows 2 sections of a man's life. This man is impervious to bullets. In the first section, he travels through the desert to kill 4 master gun fighters. In the second section, he is adopted by cripples in a cave and has to dig a tunnel to get them out.
The audio was in Spanish and subtitles were provided. The video was a little grainy, but what do you expect for 1970?
check out: the gun fighter who plays with delicate shapes and "my body feels pain, not I".
This is good. It's by Jodorowsky, so it couldn't be bad. However, it's not as good as "The Holy Mountain". This film is probably only for real film fanatics and Jodorowsky lovers.

Death Becomes Her (1992)

A comedy directed by Robert Zemeckis.
2 rival women drink an immortality potion and have to deal with the consequences.
The audio and video were good.
check out: more tasteful use of special effects.
This is one of those decent movies with a cool idea, but because it's so mainstream, it isn't executed properly. I think it's sugar coated cinema candy, but that's o.k. in this case.

The Holy Mountain (1973)

An art film by Alejandro Jodorowsky.
A group of 9 people goes on a quest for immortality.
The audio and video were as good as it gets in content, but lacking slightly in quality.
check out: The sets, costumes and props. There's some wild stuff.
If you thought that "A Clockwork Orange" was too tame and that "Altered States" wasn't crazy enough, this movie is for you. Some viewers might not understand this film. Some may be repulsed and disgusted by it. Some may turn away from the screen in fear. From the psychedelic weapons to turning Jesus' poop into gold, Jodorowsky delivers the absolute wildest, craziest, most fucked up, best film I've ever seen. This is a MUST SEE for anyone who's into extreme film. WATCH THIS FILM!!!

Yojimbo (1961)

An action film directed by Akira Kurosawa.
A samurai stumbles upon a town ruled by 2 gangs and decides to get involved in the conflict.
The audio was in Japanese and subtitles were included. The video was in black and white.
check out: The amount of sake in this little town. No wonder the old man let the hero drink for free!
If this film was set in America, it would be called a western. I guess it must be an eastern. I think I'm starting to like these old samurai flicks. If you're not brainwashed into English language color full screen movies, you should probably watch this. But then, if you like new Hollywood bullshit, you probably aren't reading this.

Trainspotting (1996)

A drama directed by Danny Boyle and based on the book by Irvine Welsh.
A group of drug addicts has tough times all the time.
The audio and video were good.
check out: the special effects. usually in movies like this it's just a bunch of flashing images.
I've seen this a few times before. It is a good movie and I'm not shooting it down or anything, but if you've seen it once, you don't need to see it again.

Infernal Affairs (2002)

A mystery directed by Andrew Lau and Alan Mak.
A gang sends a mole into the police force and the police send a mole into the gang.
The video was good. The audio was in Chinese and subtitles were included.
check out: the wild tube amp.
Once the story gets going, everything just tangles into a big mess of Chinese people who all look similar lying to each other. It's a very confusing plot to begin with, then when you can't tell the actors apart, it gets even more perplexing. I don't even like these "cops vs. criminals" movies anymore. I'm not saying it was bad, but it's definitely not good.

The People Under the Stairs (1991)

A horror directed by Wes Craven.
A boy from the ghetto goes with some older burglars to steal gold coins from the landlord of their apartment building. Among the labyrinthian secret passages of the house, he finds the outcasts of the sick "family".
The audio and video were both good.
check out: the "father"'s hunting outfit.
The plot and characters were good. The people under the stairs lookedf like they came from a local blackmetal band. Their leader reminded me of Radu from "Subspecies" but with less dialogue. There were also some pretty tense moments of suspense. I'm going to have to say this one is good.
By the way, Google automatically reads everything typed into it and displays ads based on "keywords" that it finds in the warrantless searches. They must be looking for potential "terrace activity".
